A New Way to Discover Remotes
In this announcement we would like to show you all something we have been working on for the last few weeks.
The new remotes section is now live on our website: https://www.unifiedremote.com/remotes
We have always thought it has been a bit hard to show all the remotes that have been created for Unified Remote. This community is a great first step but it still requires a user to browse around throw a bunch of threads to find what they are looking for. We believe that not all users will do that and find all the amazing remotes that are being created by the community. Therefore we have started work on a more user friendly place to show of the remotes - like an App Store for remotes.
First of all we have a page with all remotes available for Unified Remote. This will later be better categorized to make it easier to find remotes. We plan to have a few categories for user created remotes as well to show the great work that you all are doing (for example "Top Community Remotes").
Furthermore, each remote will also have a detailed page with information about the remote. These will include a detailed description, feature list, and screenshots. We will also include some more detailed information about how the remotes were implemented and how they work.
When the new pages go live it will be possible for all of you to submit remotes. To do this the remote should be published on GitHub. The reason for this is that we use GitHub as the backend. All you have to do to is to paste a link to your GitHub repository and the system will take care of the rest.
The information page that is shown is the
README.mdfile from the GitHub repository. The icons that are shown in the first picture are also downloaded from the GitHub repository. This allows you to edit the look of your pages whenever you like on GitHub and will automatically be synced to our site.
For community remotes it will be easy to submit your remotes. Just make sure you have a GitHub repository for your remote(s) and include a nice
README.mdfile (same format as the project template) and a high resolution icon. See examples in our repo:
We look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions!!!
That's cool! My only suggestion is to make it known to app users who don't look at the UR website. It would be even greater if you could browse and install remotes right from within the app, but I'm sure that's a feature for the future.
@ronCYA Yeah that is the ultimate goal but we have to start somewhere and the website is a pretty good start since every user of the app has to go through it.
The new remotes section is now live on our website!

The link is dead :(
Yes. I've been on a wild goose chase for the last hour in pursuit of the premium features that ultimately led me into choosing Unified Remote over one their many competitors. I'm not certain that any privlages have been elevated over the free version. This application does seem capable of being greatly versatile once I've poured over the resources and ingested the information. For the time being however, I'd go head over heels for up to date directions toward the premium content. For instance screen mirroring is still withheld, despite the fact that I'm now using the pro application from google play. Any help will not go unappreciated.
