I think it would be really cool if you could place either a four or eight directional joystick that can be mapped in emulators or to steam. So if I had a simple two stick shooter (ie top down view of the map. One stick controls where you're looking and the other controls movement.) I could map a remote that had the joysticks on the screen and then maybe use the volume key as a trigger. I imagine this would require the HID drivers to be installed when first setting up Unified Remote.
That is something we have been experimenting with. Any specific use cases you're thinking about (specific game or application)?
I didn't have a specific game in mind but I think a good one to experiment with would be Super Hexagon (2.99 on steam). It supports controllers and only requires one joystick and two buttons, making it easy to test with (Not to mention it's wicked fun)
Did some tests with both joystick and buttons.
Test it out and play around with the code. I think the joystick could be improved but at the moment buttons are easier to use with Super Hexagon.
BTW: This is a hard game. I only managed to get to about 12 seconds during development of this remote.
Thanks for building that! So the left right buttons worked well and at first, I didn't realize the top bar was the joystick. The joystick is very quick but I can't quite tell how to make it go one way or the other.
