Using UR libraries in Lua.exe (PC command line)
Anyone know much about pure Lua? I've just set up Lua.exe on my PC, but I noticed that UR specific commands, eg:
...don't work. It doesn't recognize UR's libraries, is there a way to make it incorporate them?
As I understand it (UR that is) UR is using Lua, just as "office" uses windows. So it is UR that translates your command to Lua commands, that are passed to the os. So UR has done the job for you (in a way)....... it "is" the integration of it's commands into Lua.... a shell (UR) co-installing a shell (Lua) upon a shell (os) upon a shell (basic language) upon a shell (machine code).
I assume that os.open translates to io.open in Lua, in a way that protects you from Lua's excessive power. It looks as though "codemirror-compressed.js" does the string translation, but I might well be wrong
Ahh cheers man for reply.
I will start learning about io.open.
In the meantime someone from this post told me I could use:
os.open = os.open or os.execute
at the top of my remote if I wanted both to work :)
