Emulators emulators emulators

I've been looking around for a way to use my phone as a gamepad, and figured that Unified Remote would to the trick.
I did however not find a single remote that works as a gamepad. What I did find was an article stating that "The team will soon release a gaming version that will allow gamers to use their smartphone as a game controller."
That was over a year ago..
Controlling emulators on your PC would be amazing, anyone that knows of a custom remote that looks something like the snes or nes controllers that I might have missed?
If not, I'm willing to make a small donation to anyone that has the know-how of creating one otherwise :)
A simple D-pad with ABXZ should suffice, possibly triggers as well.
Hmm cool. Could knock up a visual representation of one of those remotes pretty easy, I guess like the SNES? It could really have as many buttons as you wanted..
Although the idea of phone tilting to control in-game turning etc. I think would be harder, I'm not sure how to access the accelerometer, developers probably need to add that functionality to the app..
Something like this?
Pretty basic. Could add more buttons to this screen, or add another Tab for another full page of buttons..
Put the unzipped folder in the directory: C:\ProgramData\Unified Remote\Remotes\Custom\ , then restart Unified Remote server. A new remote "Game Controller" will show up in the "Gaming" category.
An issue so far is no visual feedback on button press (I had trouble using the scale values in the remote.lua for OnUp button press. If anyone can help with this I can update..
Also would've locked to landscape, but using
<layout orientation="landscape">didn't work.
Using ZTE Blade A112 w/Android 6.0 at the moment to test.
