Custom shortcut remote doesn't work
I just purchased the app and I was trying to make a shortcut remote for working with the ABBYY Finereader. Following the tutorial, I tried to program a button for the shortcut alt+insert [i.e. keyboard.stroke ("alt", "insert"); ]. But it doesn't work. I can't figure out what I've done wrong. I copied the Keys remote and changed the title to ABBYY and changed "command 1" to "Replace" and changed all of the instances of command1 to "Replace". And these title changes show up in the remote on the app.
You will need "alt" held down while you put "insert"...... the same as if you were actually typing on the keyboard.....
So you will need something like this for your "action"........
keyboard.down("alt"); keyboard.stroke("insert"); keyboard.up("alt");
I haven't had a problem using
keyboard.stroke ("alt", "insert");, but if you are using
keyboard.strokeas opposed to
kb.stroke, you need to change the first line in Keys remote:
local kb = libs.keyboard;
local keyboard = libs.keyboard;
keyboard.strokedoesn't mean anything because you haven't declared
keyboardto point to the keyboard library (
One way you could safeguard yourself from pasting in code from somewhere that has the wrong variable in it, is just include both lines at top:
local kb = libs.keyboard; local keyboard = libs.keyboard;
keyboard.stroke ("alt", "insert");and
kb.stroke ("alt", "insert");would work.
