OK, reply to my own topic. I got the Sony S-1700 remote to send about a dozen "learns" before the UR server froze. Unfortunately, ALL of the keys apparently sent the SAME code:

    F3ER00FE6018181830181818301830181819181818183018181830183018181830181819181818183018301830.

This code does nothing, not even "blip" the IR. So I tried another method I've used to get problem IR codes. I used an old RCA universal remote to "learn" the Sony commands. This it did and can control the Sony. But when I used the UUIRT remote to learn from the RCA I (maybe not surprisingly) got the same code I "learned" from the original Sony remote. I'm at a loss to explain it. Anyone have ideas?

I hadn't used the UUIRT learning Remote for a while but recently added a Sony S-1700 BluRay player. I tried to "learn" the remote codes as I always have but after a single "learn" the UnifiedRemote server hung. This now happens every time I use the "learn" function. I have to exit the server and restart. Sometimes it requires "task manager" to get UR stopped and exited. Sometimes I get a usable IR code, most times not. I probably haven't used the UUIRT learn remote in 5 months, so there have been several Win10 updates since it worked correctly. I'm on the latest server and Android software. Remotes, custom and otherwise work as they always have. Any ideas????
    Thanks,
    Lou

I found an older version of the server 3.2.5.808. Just installing over the newer sever wasn't enough to fix the problem and it stumped me. I needed to un-install, reinstall and reboot. I'm up and running again. I'm looking forward to a fix but until then, no more upgrades for me!

Thanks for the update. I disassembled my system, tested the UIRT, reinstalled drivers and spent several hours before I found this post. I also tried going back to a previous version of the server (3.2.8.850) but for some reason even THAT didn't fix it. Re-coding my remotes is possible but not much of a positive for customer experience. I've been looking for a reason to try the Logitech Harmony Home 8 and this is probably it. I'll drop a customer service request and see if they have plans to just FIX it RSN.
