    We removed usbuirtc since it was causing problems for some users. We also reverted the USB-UIRT helper remote. Try reinstalling Unified Remote Server to make sure you have the right USB-UIRT helper remote files. If that still doesn't work then please let us know.

    I've decided to revert the new USB-UIRT logic since it wasn't working perfectly. Could everyone please try installing the latest build and make sure that it works properly. Also, please test learning and transmitting from the IR Settings.

    What keyboard layout/language do you use?

    Windows is a bit trickier since the keyboard layout changes with language. The "[" and "]" keys on a US keyboard can be simulated by using "oem_4" and "oem_6" respectively.

    So try: "ctrl", "oem_4" and "ctrl", "oem_6".

    Just a quick update - we are investigating the USB-UIRT issues and hope to release a fix soon.

    If you'd like to change the volume buttons to control your PC volume instead of foobar you can do the following:

    First of all, notice that the keyboard library is already imported on line 2 (so we don't have to do that again):

    local keyboard = libs.keyboard;

    Next, scroll down to the volume_down and volume_up actions. Replace these with the following:

    [email protected] Lower volume
    actions.volume_down = function()
        keyboard.press("volumedown");
    end

    [email protected] Raise volume
    actions.volume_up = function()
        keyboard.press("volumeup");
    end

    For more info about the keyboard functions, have a look here:

    I'm not sure what you mean by "random". Do you mean playlist shuffle?

    Dvorak Keyboard

    Here is a simple custom remote for a Dvorak keyboard. I do not use a Dvorak layout myself, so if something is wrong then please let me know so that I can fix it.

    My initial thinking was if you could perhaps communicate over z-wave using a command line program. Does the OS have any command line tools for reading/writing commands to your z-wave system?

    If so, you could do something like this:

    actions.turn_lights_off = function ()
        pout,perr,presult = libs.script.shell("zwave --foo bar");
    end
