I'm wondering if some of these would be better with icons but I also want to make sure it's clear to someone who isn't familiar.
See descriptions below.
All on and Live TV
Eventghost turns my devices on and starts kodi to play live tv
All of and Kodi off
Stops any playback, exits kodi and then turns devices off
Starts kodi if not open and begins live tv
Brings up the TV guide
I'm not sure to understand what you want with theses buttons :
1xApp size/2x App hide : Which app ??
Toggles kodi between window mode (useful for keeping TV in top corner of the screen while searching the internet) and full screen. Double push makes kodi minimise.
Skip back/Forward : it's just seeking of X second, isn't it ?
Yes it is. Pushing multiple times skips larger amounts in kodi
OSD : is it for subtitle
It's for the videos info such as title, progression bar etc.
I have attached a screen shot (from my phone, but the buttons look more square on my tablet) of a custom remote I use for Kodi.
Just curious for some feedback on ways to present it better. I have linked to the Dropbox folder with the screenshot in it, and also the layout file in case anyone wants to just make suggested changes.
I think the coloured buttons seem to help seperate the sections, but in a way if prefer a small section break with small titles (not loosing to much screen real estate) but not sure. May create one thin button between sections that doesn't do anything...
Was thinking of changing the arrow keys to triangles... Not really sure.
This is a modification to the custom kodi remote.
Impressive. That all makes sense.
Will give it a crack in the next week or so.
Starting to think about looking into using a similar principle but instead of switching remotes, to make my android device play a sound file. You think this might be possible. I haven't looked mind you so being lazy.
I am using Eventghost to automate a lot of my tasks on my media PC. Eventghost acts on keyboard inputs I am creating with unified remote from my phone and tablet.
What is slightly unusual, is that I would like to switch remotes automatically when the PC issues a command. Say I click a remote button, Eventghost does its automation in loading and closing certain apps, then Eventghost issues a keyboard or network command which unified remote server detects and tells all connected android devices to switch to a certain remote (which will be the trackpad remote).
Is this easily achievable? I'm thinking probably not using just eventghost (issues command) and unified remote (detects the command and issues command to connected devices). Hoping not to use external apps on my mobile devices like tasker but if need be I could look into that.
I have still not managed to try to debug further as I am not at the server. But could the lack of ; at the end of the action lines cause problems?
I have added [email protected] to all new lines of code and will add back one by one (both the action and also the referred button on the layout) until the remote isn't imported again.
I would still appreciate any feedback about my linked custom remote in post 1 however in the meantime if possible.
First custom remote and the server isn't loading my remote which I believe to be due to my code.
Dropbox link attached. Is this ok?link text
The only part I changed from the original Kodi advanced remote is in the actions section with the actions with the kb.stroke command. I suspect it's the bit where I should write "comma" rather than "," and not sure if "1" should be "digit1" instead.
But I'm not at the server so I can't debug. Hoping someone here sees something wrong in the actions section starting from the actions.TVliveON line.
