Crunchyroll Web Media
Crunchyroll Web Media
Good on Crunchyroll for implementing a bunch of handy shortcuts! The only major things sadly missing are next/previous episode and volume change. I even added a little Easter
eggroll for no reason/just for fun :D
- Volume down (system)
- Volume up (system)
- Volume mute
- Fast forward
- Enter full-screen
- Exit full-screen
- Toggle video smoothing
- Toggle timestamp format
- Skip to beginning (OSX only)
- Skip to end (OSX only)
- Easter roll!
- Skip to beginning/end only work on Mac, but will only appear on Mac anyway
- The video frame must be focused. Clicking anywhere inside it will do.
- The video player must be focused for most of the shortcuts to work. This is a flash/Crunchyroll limitation.
- Mute, toggle video smoothing, toggle timestamp format, skip to beginning and skip to end only work in the non-full-screen player. This is a Crunchyroll limitation.
@ronCYA I may be missing something but I do not see a button for previous episode. I don't use crunchyroll and I only looked at player with no account.
But for next episode maybe can find the "Play/Pause" button then add about 30 pixels in x direction to make mouse click on the next episode button.
Btw. up arrow raises volume and down arrow lowers volume.
@scuba75 Oh, where have you seen that there's meant to be a remote button for previous episode? It's been said several times that there isn't one.
Looking for buttons sadly doesn't work because most are in Flash and there's no Unified Remote method of finding HTML buttons. There's a findimage() function in the win library which looks for images but the site uses CSS to insert most of its images, not HTML <img> tags.
I also considered hitting the tab key a million times to reach the button, but it's a crude method and bound to fail in certain scenarios (e.g. when a show has less than 5 episodes).
I wasn't sure if the mention of the previous episode was a button that was in the player. I did try the win find but it did not work. I guess because as you said it is set with css.
@scuba75 Which mention/where? And yeah, they are working on a solution that lets you select HTML elements but there's a lot involved.
"Another good example of it not working is with the Crunchyroll anime video site. The buttons for previous and next episode are actually a single arrow image that is rotated in CSS for different directions"
I took that to mean the Web player had a previous and next episode button. When I went to the website the Web Player only had a Next episode button. I was playing to see if there was any way to find the play button and move some pixels. I just wasn't sure if some others had a previous episode button on their web player due to being signed in. Again I had never visited the website till I was looking at the lack of previous and next episode button. either way it is no big deal as the findimage() does not seem to find the play/pause button.
@scuba75 Ahh yeah I thought you were talking about the remote since this is the remote project thread.
There is a previous episode button on the website, but if you're looking at the first episode of the show there won't be a previous episode to go to.
Thanks for the up/down volume tip! It isn't documented in the official help page and yet you found it without ever using Crunchyroll before— well done :P
@ronCYA sorry for the confusion. I thought I was on the request thread. Anyway I found the volume control because it is a common flash player control. So I tried it out when I went to the crunchyroll site and it worked.
