New and Improved IR Features
Over the past couple of weeks we've been overhauling the IR functionality available in Unified Remote for Android. We've consolidated all of our knowledge on how different IR formats work, and made sure that we support as many Android devices as possible. This includes:
- All Samsung devices
- All HTC devices
- All LG devices
- No Sony devices (yet)
We've also overhauled the IR settings in the app. We've combined the selection and learning screens into one screen, but also changed so that a default IR blaster is now selected automatically. We hope these changes will make it easier to use and create custom IR remote controls.
Other Android devices will work if they support the standard Android IR interface. If your device doesn't work, then please let
us know and we'll look into it. Furthermore we've also been working on improving support for external IR blasters. We've made it possible for custom remotes to show up as "IR devices" in the app. This is a huge improvement since there is now one standard way for creating IR remotes.
Finally we're also working on adding support for more external IR blasters. Current status:
- USB-UIRT (supported)
- Keene IP blaster (supported)
- IguanaIR (soon)
- GlobalCache (planned)
I would like to upgrade to thensure full app, but only if it will support a couple of features. I have a Samsung tab 4 with an IR port and Win MCE 7.
I need to turn on my Visio (TV) monitor with IR , will the full app do it?
Secondly I need to login on my media center by clicking the login icon for the media user, no password needed. I can't do this with the free app. Will the full version do this via an IR mouse or connecting to the PC server app when you are not logged in? Right now I can't connect to the pc to use your remote app until after I'm logged in. So I have to now use 3 remote devices just to see my media PC sceen.
Thanks for a reply.
I have htc one m8 android 6.0 ir learning is not available is there a way to fix it this why i bought the full version
HTC One m8 ir learning STILL NOT WORKING I'm tired from searching for a solution
Hello........ it seems that UR is not the only remote app that cannot "learn" with this phone.....
Indeed, IR learning is a feature of the smartphone itself. Not all phones with IR blasters support it. If your phone does not support it you can still use the "Lookup" feature to find codes online. This article has some info about it.
